Before you start:

It is advisable to ask yourself the following questions:

  • What is the purpose of my article/abstract?
  • How to attract potential readers? What may be interesting to them?
  • What information do you want to include?
  • Are there any specific rules that you need to follow?

  • imagine your potential readers
  • find and define clear goals for your academic work
  • select main means of achieving your goals
  • find the most creative and innovative point(s) of your work
  • find the simplest way of presenting your ideas

After you finish:

  • do not to leave writing an abstract at the eleventh hour
  • put your ready abstract aside for at least overnight and look at it afresh
  • give your abstract to your colleague to read (it is hard to spot your own errors)
  • send it before the deadline (if there is any)
